Elizabeth believes that genuine connection and acceptance is the foundation from which change can occur. She prioritizes creating an environment of safety and authentic trust that is grounded in collaboration. Elizabeth is a fourth year Doctoral student at Adler University, with emphasis in the care of children and adolescents. She uses a strengths based relational approach to treatment.
Elizabeth has previously worked with children, families, and adults in a variety of settings, including outpatient hospitals, community mental health organizations, and transitional housing. Prior to her professional work in the field, she worked with the child and adolescent population for six years as a camp counselor. This experience sparked her passion for providing comprehensive mental health care for children, and working collaboratively with the systems that they exist within. She integrates her creativity and love of fun with her therapeutic approaches to bring a variety of communication styles and outlets to the therapeutic space. She aproaches treatment with the understanding that for children and adults alike, life can be emotionally complex and overwhelming, and aims to provide a space where each individual feels fully supported in exploring these facets of themselves.
Before attending Adler University, Elizabeth earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Health Science at Stetson University. Elizabeth has been devoted to working with children from before she discovered her passion for psychology, and has worked with this population for over 10 years as a coach, mentor, and counselor. Outside of academics, Elizabeth enjoys spending her time reading, running, and spending time with family and friends.
