Martina is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor, who enjoys helping individuals overcome barriers that get in the way of living their most meaningful lives. When working with clients, she utilizes a variety of techniques, and theories to create a unique, personal, productive therapeutic relationship. Martina received her Bachelors in Psychology from National Louis University, and then continued her education at Argosy University, earning a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Martina has provided clinical and supervisory services in a variety of settings, including hospital settings, residential programs, and in the non profit sector.
Martina is a self-published author of three children’s books, with a focus on mental health and social emotional learning. Her books have been shared and used in school settings across Chicago. Martina has worked with a variety of presenting issues such as, depression, ADHD, anxiety, anger management, domestic violence, trauma, stress management, low self esteem, and loss and grief. She brings an effective blend of warmth and compassion by using skills from CBT, DBT, behavior management strategies, play therapy strategies, expressive arts, and trauma based interventions.
In her free time, Martina enjoys writing children’s books, reading, and spending quality time with family & friends.
