My therapeutic approach is relational, compassionate, direct, deep, and transformative. I believe in the strengths of all the people I see, and I work to build a therapeutic relationship that examines all aspects of their humanness. I believe in building connections and fostering trust in a safe and meaningful environment can bring about healing. It is at the core of who I am as both a member of the LGBTQIA population and as a Person of Color that I approach therapy through a lens of integration focused on breaking down barriers that society has set that work against marginalized groups. I consistently work to foster change through challenging these systems and helping break societal “norms”.
I identify as a black, queer, nonbinary human. I have found peace and strength in building connections within both the LGBTQ community as well as within the black community. I consistently commit myself to dismantling racist and bigoted norms society uses against my own communities and others. I strongly align myself with other communities to educate others on the impacts of white supremacy, and hate. I aim to support others in helping them build their own sense of awareness on how to expand liberation, and work to decolonize traditionally Eurocentric or heteronormative spaces. I also pride myself on continually learning to educate myself in building my own self-awareness and paying attention to my own biases and privileges that impact others around me.
In 2018, I graduated from Colorado Christian University with a Masters in Counseling Psychology. In my experience I became DBT certified while serving children, adolescents, and children through individual and group practice. Completing my internship in Colorado, I led DUI and substance groups while offering individual treatment.
When I am not practicing and writing spoken word, I find myself spending time with friends and immersing myself in the worlds of cosplay and video games.
