Alex is a second-year doctoral student pursuing her Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School. Prior to her PsyD program, Alex earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Auburn University. She is originally from Atlanta, Georgia. She is deeply committed to a trauma-informed and culturally competent approach to clinical care. Her clinical interests center on trauma, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and severe mental disorders. Particularly focusing on how these aspects can impact LGBTQIA+ communities, who often face unique and compounding psychological stressors. She strongly believes in the power of early intervention across the lifespan to promote resilience, healing, and more positive life trajectories. Through her work, she aims to integrate empathy, cultural humility, evidence-based assessment, and an understanding of diverse lived experiences to support clients in accessing the care they need and deserve.
She adopts a strengths-based framework, emphasizing the identification and cultivation of each individual’s inherent abilities and potential for growth. Outside of her professional endeavors, she enjoys engaging in community activism, listening to music, spending time outdoors, and cherishing time with her cat.
