I believe therapy requires authenticity and curiosity. I have a profound respect for the way our minds diligently work to protect and shield us from unwanted experiences as well as the ability to interpret the world around us. I work hard in building trust before asking anyone to reveal what they have experienced or what is so deeply troubling them. Therapy can feel strange, which is why I strive to make the process as comfortable as possible, often using humor and a relatable approach. Allowing another person to bear witness to the issues you have faced can be both painful and liberating and I am willing to take that journey alongside you.

I draw from both existential-humanistic and relational theories to help individuals discover their meaning and facilitate the development of insight. All of us have experiences, some good and some bad, but we are more than just a collection of experiences and memories and in therapy, I hope to help each person find what makes them whole. I also have a deep understanding of the biology of the stress response and how it influences one’s ability to function and understand the world. I offer genuine authenticity, validation, challenge, concern, and empathy because I know to heal one must not go it alone.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT).

My cumulative experience includes trauma informed therapy to address sexual and physical abuse, exposure to violence, PTSD, and complicated grief with individuals, groups and families healing from complex adverse experiences. Additionally, I specialize working with children, adolescents, young adults, families, and parents particularly in the treatment of trauma, PTSD, anxiety and mood disorders, adjustment disorders, life transitions, grief, attachment/relational issues, women’s issues, and executive functioning issues (i.e. attention and tracking disorders).

In my free time I enjoy nature by walking and hiking with my pup, Maple. I also have 3 beautiful cats. I am an animal lover to my core. I also love to cook and watch movies.
