Dr. DeLarco earned her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2022. She completed her doctoral training in various settings, including psychiatric hospital inpatient, hospital outpatient, group practice, and community mental health. She has significant experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults who have experienced trauma, including complex trauma. She has also had experience working with anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, adjustment disorders, relational difficulties, and grief and loss. In addition to individual therapy, she has experience utilizing family, couples, play, and group therapy modalities, as well as providing parent training. While she has experience treating a variety of populations, her particular areas of interest and emphasis are trauma, as well as grief and loss. She is also passionate about psychological assessment, with an emphasis on personality functioning.
Dr. DeLarco joined the practice in March 2022 as Testing Services Coordinator, in which she oversees the practice’s provision of psychological assessment services. She expanded her involvement in the practice in September 2022, when she began her Post-doctoral Fellowship. She provides therapy and psychological testing services, and provides supervision to doctoral-level trainees. In her therapeutic work, Dr. DeLarco typically utilizes a relational psychodynamic approach with a trauma-informed lens. Through this approach, she aims to support each of her clients in exploring the ways in which their early development and prior experiences influence how they view themself, and the ways in which they relate to others and the world. She utilizes the therapeutic relationship with each client as a mechanism for exploring challenges that may occur within the client’s various relationships, as well as to model ways to develop healthy, secure, and meaningful relationships.
