Ilana Liss, M.A. (she/her/hers)

Ilana earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where she is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. She received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. Over the past several years, she has gained experience providing individual and group therapy to children and teens diagnosed with neurodevelopmental, mood, behavioral, and learning-related disorders in a variety of diverse settings.

Her work often involves close collaboration with caregivers and multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, teachers, paraprofessionals, speech and occupational therapists, and medical providers. She has also facilitated parent trainings to help caregivers better understand their child’s needs and implement therapeutic carry-over at home. Ilana values collaborating with families to create lasting, meaningful change both in and outside of the therapy space.

Her clinical interests include emotional regulation, trauma, grief and bereavement, anxiety, developmental challenges, self-esteem, family dynamics, and social communication. She has specialized training in grief and bereavement support, as well as in the use of art therapy techniques to help children express and process difficult emotions after adverse childhood experiences.

Ilana takes a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and solution-focused approach to therapy. She is passionate about meeting each child where they are and tailoring sessions to their age, developmental needs, and interests—often incorporating talk, play, and creative expression to build trust and engagement. She works to empower children and adolescents by helping them develop coping skills, improve communication, and build on their strengths.
