Ketty Blum is a Doctoral Psychology Extern at Rooted Connections Counseling. As a therapist, her priority is building strong therapeutic relationships with each client to support them throughout the therapy process. She utilizes a compassionate, strengths-based approach to therapy and draws from CBT and ACT to meet the needs of each individual. She has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults across a variety of settings, including individuals with anxiety, mood disorders, cognitive disabilities, learning disabilities, and those with significant trauma histories.

Ketty is in her 4th year as a Psy.D. student in School Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She has previously earned a Master’s of Education in Psychology at The Chicago School, a Master’s of Arts in Elementary Education at the University of California Santa Cruz, and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology at the University of California Santa Cruz. Before pursuing a career in psychology, Ketty worked as an elementary school teacher in Santa Cruz, California and in Chicago Public Schools. She has taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade.

In addition to providing therapy at Rooted Connections, Ketty works as an instructor of undergraduate psychology at The Chicago School. In her free time, she likes to spend time at the lakefront, explore new restaurants, and read science fiction books.
