Magdalena Piazza, M.A. (she/her/hers)

Magdalena is a 4th year doctoral student pursuing her PsyD in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where she also earned her Master’s in Clinical Psychology. Before attending The Chicago School, Magdalena earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Concordia University of Chicago. Magdalena has worked with adults, children and adolescents for the past 6 years in various settings including a residential treatment center (Garfield Park Behavioral Health), a group home (Centerstone), hotline (National Runaway Safeline), psychoeducational summer camp (Page & Stage Theater Camp), and CPS (NAMI Oak Park).

Her approach to talk therapy has strong roots in dialectical behavioral therapy and humanistic therapy, but she also uses experiential and artistic therapies to connect with others. She works with clients to build a compassionate therapeutic relationship where clients can explore what is most meaningful to them without judgment. She believes in community-based treatment and in meeting her clients where they are at. Magdalena seeks to provide a safe and a brave space to explore struggles, discover strengths, and guide in self-discovery and personal growth. She helps clients build emotional management and regulation skills to overcome difficulties. Her clinical interests include drama therapy, grief and loss, identity development, communication skills, relationships, abuse and neglect, anxiety, depression, and ADHD. In her free time, Magdalena enjoys reading, being outside, playing a tabletop rpg, catching a movie, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
