Maya is a second-year doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology PsyD program at Roosevelt University and earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Michigan State University. Her parents immigrated from Germany, which has shaped her appreciation for cultural identity and diverse experiences. She is fluent in both English and German and maintains close connections with her family in Germany. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys hiking, yoga, and spending time outdoors.
Clinically, she has experience mentoring an adolescent in a therapeutic setting, conducting behavioral health screenings in a pediatric clinic, and contributing to research on prenatal stress. Her primary interests include working with children, adolescents, and families in the areas of trauma, identity development, postpartum mental health, and family dynamics.
Her therapeutic approach is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and collaboration. She strives to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to create meaningful change.
What sets her apart as a therapist is her openness to growth, curiosity about others’ experiences, and willingness to engage fully in challenges alongside her clients. Her connection to nature and meditation practice have shaped the way she approaches therapy, allowing her to remain calm, present, and supportive while helping clients navigate challenges and build on their strengths.
As an RCC student clinician, Maya provides services at the reduced RCC student rate if needed. If you are interested in this option, please request more information during your intake screening.
