Meagan Sodaro (she/her/hers)

Meagan earned her Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where she is currently pursuing her doctoral degree. She completed her B.A.s in Psychology and Creative Writing with a minor in Neuroscience at Marquette University in 2018. Since graduating, Meagan has worked with children and adolescents for the past 6 years in various settings including psychiatric hospitals, in-home behavioral health services, community mental health centers, and private practice. Meagan has significant expereince working with adolescents strugging with self-harm and suicidal ideation and has spent many years working with mood and personality disorders. Her clinical interests and experiences include depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, group and family dynamics, communication, relationships building, self-esteem building, identity formation, and mood and personality disorders.

Meagan takes a relational psychodynamic approach to therapy and really values building the therapeutic relationship to work with her clients as a team, processing, uncovering, and reflecting on various beliefs, patterns, and perspectives in collaboration. She believes that fun and laughter are key components in every relationship and likes to incorporate fun and creativity into sessions when possible.

Although Meagan has a passion for psychology, in her free time Meagan enjoys reading, creative writing, and painting. Reading in particular takes up much of her time and she enjoys reading fantasy, horror, and literary fiction. Her other favorite activities include taking walks around the city with her very energetic puppy, Clover, and trying out new coffee shops to find the best lavender latte Chicago has to offer.
